Hello, This post is in regards to 3D imaging in the forensic field where instead of physically casting and taking the evidence you would utilize this technology to take the pictures with a resolution of 600 dpi and collect the evidence in this manner. While I understand this method sounds fool proof and highly effective I still feel there is something to be said about the ability for the technician to be able to detect even more when collecting the evidence in the usual way. https://www.technologynetworks.com/applied-sciences/news/3d-imaging-in-forensics-184489

Hello, This post is in regards to the added dependency on AI technology which can be helpful but it also depends on the data set being used for the algorithm. If the information is skewed such as disproportionately high to certain groups such as Latinos or Black individuals then the technology does not help the system but can undermine it. How are we to always trust the technology where there is a strong margin for error? https://www.aclu.org/issues/privacy-technology/surveillance-technologies/ai-and-criminal-justice-devil-data

Hello, This post is in regards to new technology in the field of Criminal Justice. The Smart Belt is a new invention to provide improved security for the officers. It provides an accurate portrayal of the officer’s location, movement, can alert dispatch and call for back up when needed. My concern with this just with the AI entering the running of different aspects where is the human decision making at these time when maybe the program might be out of control.
